Purpose: The Altar Guild partners with the priests to make the worship life of the parish run smoothly. It is organized for the care of the sanctuary, the sacred vessels and the vestments. The guild is organized into four working teams lead by a team leader. Each team is responsible for altar guild services and activities in their scheduled week. The altar hangings are changed according to the colors of the church seasons or for special occasions. The Altar Guild is called upon throughout the year to lend its assistance to provide special flower arrangements, such as at Homecoming Day, Thanksgiving, Baptisms, weddings, funerals, Poinsettia Plants at Christmas, and Lilies at Easter time. On the first Sunday in June the guild gathers for Corporate Communion, enjoys a delicious catered luncheon and a wonderful program with family and friends.
Joining: We invite all who are interested in joining the Altar Guild to contact the director who will be pleased to assign you to a team. If you have a passion for flower arranging and would like to only be involved in that area of the guild duties let the director know that and she will accommodate you.
